Emergency Medical Unit GAZA

Save a Child has partnered with Kinder Relief to help support their emergency medical clinic in Mawasi. Al-Qarara is one of the only functioning health points left in the area of South Gaza, where tens of thousands of displaced people are sheltering in makeshift camps. Most have no way to access hospitals, which are either overwhelmed or destroyed.

In a place where hospitals have collapsed, children are dying from fevers, dehydration, and wounds that should never be fatal. This compact but fully equipped facility is staffed by two doctors, two nurses, and an assistant member of staff trained for conflict settings. It was designed to deliver fast, low-resource interventions.

This clinic is small, but it’s equipped to handle:

●      Severe respiratory infections (including nebulizer treatments)

●      Wound care and infection management

●      Pediatric emergencies

●      Chronic disease (diabetes, hypertension)

●      Gastrointestinal illness and dehydration

●      Fever, skin disease, antenatal care

●      Emergency stabilization and triage for referral

For the more complex cases, medical staff have access to Save a Child's mobile case management and referral platform, giving local doctors and nurses direct access to a global network of pediatric specialists ready to assist remotely.
